Since I had of run of hardware failures on my aging PC in January this year, Windows XP stubbornly refused to repair or re-install. I happened to try my old Linux Mint 9 and to my surprise many of the apps run better than my Windows apps – mail, web browsing, DVD burning, video conversion, web site authoring … All work well.
